Mary Rice Hopkins has a gift for leading others in worship. Serving
as a worship leader for thousands at national conferences and large churches,
God is using Mary to create an atmosphere for joyful praise and heartfelt
worship. Fern Nichols, President and Founder of Moms in Touch International
said, “What a privilege for me to honor a woman who follows hard
after God’s heart and uses her gifts for His honor and glory. The
first time I met Mary Rice Hopkins was at a Moms in Touch rally. She
was asked to lead the women in worship. And worship we did.”
Originally a part of the singing duo, “Wendy and Mary,” Mary
led in praise and worship as she traveled with John Michael Talbot and
many other touring artists. Classics, such as “Create in Me” and “Lion
and the Lamb,” written by Mary, have been sung all over the world.
Mary grew up in the Nazarene church and has a rich heritage in learning
and
understanding the importance of the hymns. As a musician, Mary has learned
to combine contemporary sound with the traditional hymns and have made them
come alive in her worship leading. Crossing denominational lines, Mary is ministering
to congregations around the world with the Gospel of Christ and a message of
hope.
In many churches Mary has been asked to do the entire service. Bethany
Christian, Emmanuel Church in Burbank, Camarillo First Church of the
Nazarene, Tigard
Christian Church in Eugene, Or.., and Crescenta First Presbyterian are just
a few, and all of them have asked her to come again. Joann Clark from Emmanuel
Church in Burbank shared, “Recently, Mary and Darcie ministered on Sunday
morning for two services at our Emmanuel Church. It was a great time for our
total congregation – tots to seniors loved it!”
An added plus is
that Mary can come with a complete band or provide accompaniment charts for
the church band to play along. These gifted musicians join Mary
in creating an atmosphere for joyful praise. Mary is a rare jewel with an
exceptional talent for leading in worship. Once you experience a worship
service with Mary
Rice Hopkins, you’ll want to again and again.
(Using drama and Power Point, Mary and Darcie bring clarity to the worship
service.)
